Members of the Woodin Street Fence Committee want more information about the redevelopment going on around them over the New Haven line and more opportunities to get that information, and Tuesday they made that request to the Legislative Council.
But some town officials question whether that committee even still exists.
The fence for decades was thought to sit on Hamden land. Mayor Scott Jackson formed the committee two years ago after a contentious meeting in 2012 when the New Haven Housing Authority’s plans to remove the fence again surfaced. The committee met with Hamden and New Haven officials over the ensuing months, but earlier this year it was discovered that the fence is actually on New Haven property and that city then immediately took steps to demolish it. … Continue Reading
