1everybodysWhen the news broke recently that Everybody’s Market in Cheshire will close next month, the thoughts of many were with the store’s employees who may be losing their jobs.

The Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce will host a job fair supporting the veteran community  and featuring decorated war veteran Dakota Meyer, the youngest living Medal of Honor recipient.

As part of its 10th Annual Business and Community Expo on April 16, the HRCC has partnered with Hiring Our Heroes, a program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation that provides veterans, active members of the military and their spouses with direct contact to employers with available job opportunities.

“I want veterans and their families to know they can come spend the day with us,” said Nancy Dudchik, Hamden Regional Chamber President. “It’s a day to thank our military and offer assistance with their job search.” … Continue Reading

1del1Motivating employees and making them feel connected to their workplace is the topic of the Hamden Economic Development Commissions fourth session in its 2014 Speaker Series..

The workshop will take place Tuesday, April 8 at 5:30 p.m.in the Conference Room on the third floor of Government Center.

In 2013, a Gallup report on the State of the Global Workplace found that 70 percent of US workers are “not engaged,” or “actively disengaged,” meaning they lack motivation and are less likely to invest discretionary effort in organizational goals or outcomes.
